Eminent educationist Professor
Zillur Rahman Siddiqui died on Tuesday night at the age of 86.
Zillur, who was awarded the
Shadhinota Padak accolade, was taken to Samorita Hospital in the capital city
around 01:00am on Wednesday when he fell ill but doctors declared him
dead.
An official of the hospital told
the body of the former adviser to caretaker government was kept in the morgue
freezer.
The academic is survived by his
wife, three sons and a daughter. Two of
his sons are abroad and the family said his burial would be arranged after
consulting with the sons.
