BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, also the former prime
minister, on Wednesday alleged that the incumbent government is “killer”.
“The government is killing people by Rapid Action
Battalion (RAB), and police and leaders and activists of Chhatra League,” she
said.
The BNP chief was addressing a mass rally of 20-party
alliance at Gurudayal College ground on Wednesday afternoon. Referring Biswajit killing, she told her
audience that he (Biswajit) told the “killers” that was a tailor and a son of a
Hindu family but the Chhatra League leaders killed him. She also termed the
incumbent government murderer and forced abductor.
Putting question, she said how Awami League government
claimed that it was elected as people did not cast vote in the January 5
elections. She added: “Activists of ruling party are violating rules and not
obey to law and we can see killers of Biswajit, a tailor of old Dhaka who was
chopped dead by Chhatra League activists of Jagannath University, till not
arrested.”
Earlier in the morning, Khaleda’s motorcade left her
Gulshan residence at 10.50am for the rally and arrived in the district’s
Circuit House around 3:00am.
Staying there awhile, she left for the rally, which is
being presided over by district BNP senior vice-president Shariful Islam.
