Students of sociology department of Rajshahi University (RU)
blocked the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway protesting against the killing of professor
AKM Shafiul Islam Lilon on Saturday.
Earlier, miscreants stabbed professor Shafiul of Sociology
department of the university to death in the afternoon.
Enraged by the incident, students put barricade on the
Dhaka-Rajshahi Highway in front of the university and staged demonstration at
around 6:15pm, demanding arrest of the killers and their exemplary punishment.
Rajshahi University Teacher’ Association (Ruta) announced to
boycott all classes and examinations of the university on Sunday protesting at
the murder and demanding immediate arrest of the killers.
