Power outage probe committee to seek more time to file report

The committee probing Saturday's power outage across the country will seek more time to file its findings.
The committee headed by power division's Additional Secretary Kaykaus Ahmed visited the Ashuganj Thermal Power Plant in Brahmanbarhia on Wednesday.
"We will not be able to file our report within the time-frame of three-working days set by the ministry.”
"We will inform the ministry about the progress of the investigation on Thursday and will seek more time to file the report," the probe committee chief told reporters.
He said they were yet to identify the reason for the grid failure.

Bangladesh suffered its worst ever power cut on Saturday after the National Grid collapsed in the morning, leaving millions across the country without power.
