The International Crimes Tribunal is
set to deliver its verdict in the war crimes case against absconding BNP leader
Zahid Hossain alias Khokon Razakar on Thursday.
The first tribunal led by Justice M
Enayetur Rahim has fixed the date for pronouncing verdict against the BNP
leader on Wednesday.
It has so far pronounced verdicts
against Jamaat leaders Ghulam Azam and Delwar Hossain Sayeede, and BNP leader
SalauddinQuader Chowdhury.
Khokon is facing 11 charges for
murder, genocide, arson, rape, loot and forcing religious conversion.
During the proceedings, the
prosecution called 24 witnesses against Khokon, while no witnesses were
produced for the fugitive accused. The accused is currently in Sweden.
Earlier on April 17, after both
prosecution and defence finished placing arguments yesterday, the first
tribunal passed the order keeping the case CAV, meaning “verdict would be
delivered later.”
