The
Malaysian police have detained 80 illegal Bangladesh immigrant workers on
Wednesday.
The police,
in two separate raids, picked them up from two “kongsi” houses in Tringkap and
Blue Valley, Kampung Raja, of Malaysia, reported Bernama, Malaysian State news
agency.
All the
illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, are aged between 20 and 50, Cameron
Highlands district police chief DSP Wan Mohd Zahari Wan Busu says.
“During the
raid, no undesired incidents occurred as all the illegal immigrants gave their
cooperation.” "Preliminary
investigation revealed that they are believed to have overstayed in this
country and were also found to be working at the construction site without
valid permit and document," he added.
